Katrina looked up at the sky, smiling, her tail swished back and forth. Her tail was a bit pinched from her laying on it, she did not want to move though. She really liked laying right next to him, rolling slightly she sighed with relief.
Looking at him she noticed that he was looking at her, she blushed slightly and looked at the park. She wondered why he was looking at her, looking at him again. Noticing how green his eyes really were. They were really pretty, she had never seen anything so green.
When he started talking about the festival she smiled, remembering the first time she had been. When he asked her that she nodded "yeah, I did go last year, it was lots of fun. I earned a lot of money than" rolling a bit more with her chest so she could put her chin on his chest. She wondered if he wanted to go with her, this year she was only vending for a few hours when it started. Than the rest of the evening she was free.
She wondered if he had a place to stay, she was to nervous to ask him whether or not he did. She had a two bedroom place, with low rent because the landlady was such a sweetheart she let her have it for low rent. Her tail flicked around.

Their eyes meet, and Riko noticed something about Katrina, her checks got a little red. Riko Smiled as he came to the realization that Katrina was blushing. Riko could feel Katrina's body shifting into a position to allow her to lean her chin onto his chest. This whole sensation was so foreign to Riko. Although it was nice being so close to someone, he couldn't even remember the last time he even gave someone a so much as a hug.
Riko froze for a moment unsure of himself or how to proceed. Before Riko got a chance to talk himself out of it he reached out with one arm to wrap around her resting his hand gently on her head. And then the doubt sank in. Even though Katrina was resting on him he still worried he might do something wrong. So he quickly asked "So this year are you going to be playing on stage this year?" to get his mind off the fact he was so nervous.

Katrina felt his arm wrap a bit around her, feeling his hand on her head. Shifting slightly so she was more comfy. Her tail swishing a bit more, she was happy. Really happy, like she felt she might float away from how many butterflies were in her stomach.
Shaking her head slightly "Maybe, I am not to sure yet, I hope so, that would be really cool if I got to this year. I am waiting to hear back from them about my request to". lifting her legs up so she could swing them a bit back and forth. She was sort of laying on him slightly. "Will you be watching? or will you be walking around?" staring into his deep green eyes.
Wondering what time it was, looking at her wrist watch, the face of it was broken up. You could barely see the time, but it still worked so she kept it. If it didn't, it still looked nice enough to keep. It was late afternoon, almost dinner time. She only checked because she was getting hungry, looking back at him she smiled more.
"Hey, um, would you like to go to dinner with me?" blushing as she asked. She didn't want to just leave, she would need to figure out a way to see him again. So she needed more time to think and she couldn't on a hungry stomach. "It would be my treat" saying treat sort of like she was singing a melody. She hoped he said yes, blushing more when she realized how random that question was. Here he was talking about the festival, and she had to bring her stomach into it. It was a bit funny, but she knew it was rude.

Riko saw Katrina lift her legs up and swing them back and forth. It was such a defining marker, it seemed as though Katrina couldn't not swing one thing or another. Be it her legs or her tail, something was always swinging. Riko didn't have much plans about the festival, the only thing that he knew was that he should probably try and be there. He had a feeling that the show was going to be killer. "I hopping I'll manage to watch, if you're not playing, would you like to sit by me to watch."
Riko noticed the watch that Katrina pulled out to check the time. It was a worn out antique that has seen better days. Riko thought it was a miracle the thing still keep time. The face was broken. Riko knew a thing or two about fixing watches. He use to fix some as a side job for the richer members of society. A lot of rich people liked to where prewar mint condition watches because they thought it looked retro. One of the problem with fixing prewar stuff though was the lack of parts and runners to get them. Although there was new tools to keep track of time some people still preferred watches.
Riko felt his mouth slowly curve into a smile, "I would love to have dinner with you. That's a nice watch you have there." Although the question was a little out of the blue, Riko figure it must have been around dinner time. With the hours he work, along with making meals at irregular times for himself, he could never really make head or tails of the when it was time to have dinner.

Katrina smiled more when he had asked her about if she wanted to sit with him. Forgetting the question as her stomach growled, when he said he would go to dinner with her she grinned. Jumping up, staring down at him, taking a couple of steps back.
"Thank you, I found it one day in an alley, it worked and well if it works might as well keep it right?" smiling. Her brother had a watch, it was really old, but he loved to try and keep it working. She remembered sitting next to him a few times as he tinkered with it to keep it going. He taught her a few tricks to keep it going. So she thought if she could she would use it as much as she could.
Blushing more when she realized he had asked her something. "Oh! about your question, I will sit with you during the show if you want" holding her hand out to him to help him up. When he took it she pulled him up and hugged him.

"So where are we off to?" Riko reached out to grab Katrina's hand. Riko was curious as to where they where about to go to get dinner, there where plenty of food vendors in town, but there was also the chance that she would take him over to her place to cook a meal for him, of course that seemed a little far fetched. And with a sudden pull, he was up on his feet, the young girl was a lot stronger than she looked.
Then something unexpected happened. Well not unexpected as in an explosion going off, of course to Riko it felt a lot like one just went off in his head. He couldn't remember the last time someone gave him a hug. It must have been over a year ago, when his friends where still around. This feeling, it was so foreign. It was a warm sign of affection that felt comforting. In some strange way it made Riko sad, reminded him about how he has keep himself at a distance from everyone for so long.
Riko awkwardly returned the hug unsure on how close and firm he should hold Katrina by him.

It was nice hugging him, he was warm, feeling how he was awkward with the hug. Looking up at him she smiled, "come on, my land lady makes the best soup around". She had a few new spices she was able to get a deal on from a vendor. She hoped that Linda, her land lady would enjoy him.
Without asking she grabbed his hand and started pulling him along. Going back the way she came, looking at him a few times. She was so excited to have dinner with him she felt like she could run around and do somersaults. When they got back to her place she walked in, smelling the soup and some rustling. Her room was upstairs with Linda's but the kitchen was in the basement of the shop.
Letting go of his hand she waved for him to follow her, her tail swishing a bit. Going down the stairs silently, she could hear whistling, she grinned. Linda was in a good mood, walking into an open door way "I'm home!". Walking into the kitchen, "I have a guest with me today", Linda turned around and smiled.
Linda was a short lady, she had scales and lizard like eyes. "Welcome" she walked up to Katrina and hugged her "who might your guest be?".

Riko felt his checks fluster and go red as they both stood there hugging each other. 'Am I falling for kritina?' Riko asked himself. It was an interesting thought to entertain, him falling for anyone, after everyone he has lost and after all the barriers he has put up in his heart. Well I guess cupid finally landed a lucky hit, that little bastard.
Riko felt Kristina pull back breaking the hug, and answering his question of where they where going to have dinner. Riko wasn't a big fan of soup however, although on the other hand it's been a long time since he has had good soup. What he didn't like about soup was that it didn't seem to matter much on how much he had, he was always still hungry. Soup is like a beverage, doesn't matter how much you drink you would want some food. Then Riko remembered the soup that his mother use to make for him. She would pour him a bowl and Riko would always wounder if that was all and if it would actually fill him up. And then the first spoon full, and it was like an angel dancing on his touch. The perfect mixes of spices with just the right ingredient. before you knew it your bowl was empty, and somehow you where no longer hungry.
It startled Riko to have his hand suddenly grabbed by Kristina who broke out in a light jog. His arm dragged the rest of his body along the way as they quickly made their way back out of the park to Kristina's place. The last of the sun disappeared over the horizon as the night came out. they continued their short run, it started to drizzle. It came as a relief to Riko when they finally arrived to their destination, they had manage to get back without getting too wet from the rain.
The moment the door opened Riko was back to his child. He remembered a time when he was just a boy. He was down with a flu and it was raining much like it was now. His mom came up to his room and with a bowl of soup that was so comforting. And as he started to drink it he could feel himself warming up beneath his cozy blankets.
Riko extended his his hand to shake. "Linda, that's a lovely name. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Katrina watched Riko shake hands with Linda. "Well it's nice to meet you to Riko, come one, have a seat, the stew is almost ready". Katrina remembered something, it was easily seen that she had remembered something. Going into her bag she pulled out a pouch of spices, holding it out to Linda.
"Here, I picked this up today, I was going to save it for a special occasion" looking at Riko slightly. "Meeting someone new is as special as it's gonna get!" she laughed slightly. Watching Linda take the pouch, sniffing it.
"Oh Kat, you didn't have to" Katrina shrugged and sat down at the table.
"I wanted to though, I had enough for them, I am sure they will taste great!" smiling. Taking her bag off she put it on the back of the chair, stretching her leg out. She pushed out one of the two other chairs, they were sort of falling apart, but they held a lot of the time. Swishing her tail about before she curled it in her lap. The table itself was old boards that were from run down houses. Linda had preferred to put more money into her shop then the small things like a table and chairs, but she did pay for dishes when they were needed.
Linda sighed and smiled, she put some of the spices in with the soup, it had small chunks of meat and vegetables. "So, Riko, what do you do?" she wiped her hands on a rag, turning she grabbed bowls from cupboard, they were chipped but they would hold the soup as they had before. Dishes were a rarish find, it was hard to get them, unless you got them while on the way from Abbey.

Riko started to look around and although the place was small it didn't really feel all that cramped for space; the place gave Riko a cozy feeling. As Linda and Kristina started to talk their lips slowly curved into a smile; warm smiles that where brighter than all the lights in the house. Riko walked to the dinning table and floor gave a little creek. There was a little warp to the floor probably due to water. The chair was rough on the edges and he could feel the grain of the wood as he gave the chair a light tug to pull it away from the table to sit on. And unexpectedly Riko found the chair to be sturdy and comfortable.
"I'm a vendor down at the market. I make soap and sell it to vagabonds and aristocrats. My family taught me some practical chemistry and it seemed like an easy thing to do." and when business was slow he would go on runs. It was the only way to really make ends meet. Of course it wasn't exactly something he wanted to broadcast, it seemed like everyone needed something out there in the ruins and no one wanted to get it themselves. As soon as most people heard that went on runs they would ask, no beg him, to pick something that would mean life or death to them, course picking it up usually meant putting his own life on the line.

Kat saw him sit, hearing the chair give a slight creak. Hear what he did, "very cool" she had liked the smell of soaps, sometimes when she had extra money, and it was a special occasion she would buy some. She needed to find another job, find something to do to earn more, she had to. Thinking about that she blinked "d-do you know anyone who goes to Abbey and helps people cross from there, here?". She wanted to know who to go to when she finally had enough to help her parents over. She hadn't heard anything from them either. Her tail twitched anxiously about the answer.
Linda grabbed the bowls filling the soup "you poor girl, still thinking about them are you?". Filling the bowls up with soup and chunks of stuff she brought it over with wooden spoons. Patting Katrina's back, who blushed slightly and looked away.
"W-wouldn't you?" she shifted in the chair, her ears went down slightly, she perked up when she smelt the soup. "mmmmmm, smells great! I knew the spices would work". Wanting to change the subject a bit, looking at Riko, she still wanted an answer.
Linda sat in a chair and started eating, Katrina started to, hearing Linda over her slight slurring "it's been a while since we needed that third chair, it's nice that you decided to come back with Katty here".

Riko froze for a moment unsure about how to answer the question Kristina asked him. Although he knew of a man that has helped people cross Abbeyveil before, because a lifetime ago they worked side by side. Riko was pretty sure that his days of smuggling people across borders have long since passed. On the other hand if anyone knew someone that was still doing it would be him.
Then there were other complications involved in crossing. Crossing wasn't exactly an easy job to do. In order to cross one needed to get across the wall, all the knights, and then the desert in between Abbeyveil and Lulanight. I would take a little while to gather all the supplies that would be needed, and someone that could put up with creature that might be waiting for them in the desert.
“I do know a guy that might be able to help you actually. Although he gave up smuggling a long time ago, he should still know some people that could help you. His name is Alphonse, he’ll be a tomorrow’s fair” Riko paused for a moment “I could try and introduce the two of you?”

Katrina stared into his face, when he gave her an answer. She did not know whether or not to be happy or sad, looking down. She smiled "t-thank you!" looking up at him "well if we are going there, and we bump into him, then I guess I could ask a few things. B-but other then that, I wouldn't want to go out and deliberately look for him, s-since we will be there together" fidgeting slightly with the spoon, Linda looked at Katrina.
"You're going on a date? with him?" she grinned "well why didn't you say anything!" she hugged her. Katrina squirmed a bit, blushing hard, she didn't know what to say.
"You didn't ask!" Linda had let her go, laughing, Katrina looked at Riko, then down at her soup and started eating some.
"I know I didn't, so, Riko, do you have a family here? or friends?" Katrina looked slightly at Riko. Then at Linda, she tried to give her the -you shouldn't of asked- look, but Linda only looked at Riko.
