Izabell Negem Iza smiled to herself as she walked through the gates into Lullanight. Having spent 3 years of her life here Iza had grown to view the city as a sort of home, and while she would always love the desert and its ever shifting sands the wandering woman still found a sense of home in Lullanight's open arms and stone streets. Looking over the buildings at the rising steam in the distance Iza smiled. Technology had come a long way and was always growing the steam that powered industry and the future was a strange sign of hope and Iza enjoyed that unlike Abbeyveil, Lullanights industry was not something that smothered part of the city in a gray cloud. As the wandering woman walked further into the city she soon found the hospital were her adopted mother worked she soon located the now elderly woman and exchanged a long hug with her. After a short conversation her adopted mother was called away to operate she reminded Iza where she lived and then Iza spent her time visiting the children she knew some and though they had grown they knew her Iza had been a big sister to many of the children there and even though a year had past sense her departure and they had grown they all knew the tattooed woman well. After giving out a few trinkets and allowing a few kids to pet Fluffin her sleepy pet bird Iza left the hospital and stopped off at home.
The house was small and just as Iza remembered. Its sturdy walls and high ceilings were solid and comfortable and there were many carpets that Iza had brought back from trading with other desert salesmen. The stairs that led upstairs were made of wood and were polished neatly despite her adopted mothers insistent job. Walking up the winding stair the Wandering Vagabond let her tattooed hands brush the solid beam of wood that reached up into the second floor. The second floor was small and immediately broke into 3 rooms the main one being a small sitting room as the downstairs was entirely dedicated to a kitchen and eating room. Iza slipped into her room a small closet but it suited the girl just fine. Setting down her several bags and backpack she pulled out her money bag, a lovely carpet and stand as well as some of her finer teas and trinkets. She decided to at least try and get a little shopping and selling done before the day was done. Standing Iza took a moment to breath in and then out again her shoulders drooping as she relaxed. It was nice to be home, taking a moment to look out the window Iza nodded and head back downstairs where she gave the curry slowly cooking on the stove and good taste, adjustment, and mix. Before heading out the door and down the cobbled streets to the weekend market that was lively and bright with colors and merchants of all sorts.
Iza stopped a moment to chat with a 4 armed merchant about his herbs, she bought a small bag and then finally found an empty stall that wasn't reserved. Iza quickly set her tapestry over the table before setting up the stand with trinkets and gems and then setting up the many exotic teas. Fluffin Iza's bird decided to wake up and jump onto the table, his exotic looking plumery seemed to blend in with the colorful tapestry draped over the small stall table, Iza took a moment to run her fingers over her birds soft feathers before picking him up and setting him on her shoulder where he soon began to occupy himself at climbing up and down her long braid of white hair. Then the Wandering Vagabond sat back relaxed and waited all the while looking over the other stalls, the other merchants, and of course at the interesting people walking the street looking for a good deal. It was a calm day a nice day and yet Iza could not help but feel like something, anything could happen.

Daega Tamya Deaga ran through the venders, late for her job, the ground was slick with rain and she had to stop regularly as not to trip. "Oh....oh no..." She muttered looking at the large clock in the center of town; 9:46. "OH...no no no no no!" She ran faster, weaving though the morning crowds. Almost at the end of the street, Dea looked up at the clock once again, that was her mistake. Her foot caught on something and she fell splashing mud and water over the nearest vender. Daega slowly looked up at the girl who's tapestry she had accidentally ruined, the vender had white hair and a bird hanging off of her braid, "I am so sorry, r-really, um...I'm really really sorry..." She reached into her bag, "um I can pay for it...I mean it was...I didn't mean to..." Deaga stuttered, unsure what to expect...

Izabell Negem Iza was more then a little shocked when some poor girl came tumbling and tripping by her stall and in the Wayward Vagabond's worry over the girls well being she did not even notice the damage done to the tapestry. Instead the white haired woman rounded her stall and picked up the girl in a rush checking her over for any scrapes and bruises. "Are you alright? You took quite a fall of goodness." Noticing a small scrape on the girls knee Iza dragged the poor mutant to the other side of the stall to sit down and compose herself. As Iza looked over the girls scraped knee Fluffin her bird unhooked himself from her white braid to nest himself in the new girls lap, the little brat of a bird was obviously fishing for some praise. Iza ignoring her birds antics pulled out a band-aid from her bag and a small canteen of water along with a strange dark brown leaf. "Here we go, I can't have a young lady going to work with sore knees more so when one is nearly bleeding!" Iza gently poured some water into her palm before soaking the brown leaf once she was done she rubbed the leaf over the scrape. "This will ensure you don't feel any-pain as well as speed up the process of healing, and the band-aid is too make sure you don't get any infection." Iza gently applied the band-aid before standing. "I can't do anything about your clothes though I'd suggest you change cold wet mud is certainly not conducive to not getting sick."

Daega Tamya Daega sat, a little stunned, against the girl-vender's cart. Though Lullanight was an accepting place people were not usually kind when you ruin their merchendise. The girl had fixed up dae's knees suprisingly well. As dae studied the vendor's face she came to the realization (far too late) that this girl wasn't a mutant. By this time her savior had stood up, leaving dae sitting on the cobbled street with...a bird in her lap?! She stared at it for a second before petting its fluffy little head. "Aren't you the cutest!" Dea giggled, holding up the little animal to her face. The vendor who had helped her chuckled at them. "Oh is he/she your's?" Deaga asked standing up, muddy and wet.

Izabell Negem
Iza smirked. "You mean the fat ball of feathers? Yeah he's man, names Fluffin. Found him out in the desert a year back starved when I took him in he started to eat and travel on my shoulder so he became that fat little butterball, eh. I don't mind though he's cute as all hecky." Iza grinned a toothy grin the bright white of her somewhat sharp teeth contrasting against her darker skin tone. "Ah, I should probably introduce myself! Names Izabell Negem, Traveling Desert Salesmen. I'm in the city visiting my adopted mom and the kids at the hospital where she works." Iza pulled a nearby empty crate over and sat on it so as to be eye level with the girl. Of course she adjusted her robes as she sat so that her prosthetic legs were well covered but she had no trouble showing off the elegant pale tattoos adorning her arms and hand. "Might I know your name while you rest a moment?"

Daega Tamya "Of course. I'm Daega, ma'am." Dae glanced at the tattered tapestry, and then looked at Izabell, and though she didn't want to bring any attention to her mistake, she breathed deeply and said quickly, "Would you like me to pay for that? I understand if you do..." Her eyes watered a little feeling ashamed at what she had done to this kind girl's work, Dae's face turned a little so that she wasn't looking at Izabell, "I'm sorry." She fingered the bandage on her knee, "I really am,"

Izabell Negem Iza looked over the dirtied tapestry and seemed pensive for a moment. "Hmm." Finally she stood took off her bits and bobs grabbed the tapestry and flipped it over so the other still clean side showed. "There we are." Satisfied with her work Iza put back the stand full of trinkets and gems and then set down her many impressive herbs and teas. "Listen, Daega, you look thin enough to scare and skeleton but I do suppose that I cannot let you get away with ruining my cheap tapestry." Iza smirked mysteriously at the girl. "So I will make you a deal, you will go to work and when your done you will return to the market and find me, from here I will take you home make you eat a large dinner of curry and if I'm feeling particularly cruel a dessert of chocolate pudding. After which I will walk you home and expect you to get a goodnight sleep." Iza looked down at Daega her smirk now even wider. "And keep in mind that it would be rude of you to decline my offer!" Iza looked over her teas before selecting one and handing it to the girl. "This is Earthheart leaves while normally poisonous if you treat them just right they can be used to make a nice tea generally if your not desert savvy like myself its a rare and priceless commodity, give that to your employer as an apology for being late, and then as I said go through your day." Izabell smiled kindly at Daega to show she was in no way joking and then she gestured gently with a flick of her head that she should get going so as not to be more late. While many would probably think Izabell insane for her actions in that moment Iza could not help but be kind to Daega, the girl reminded her of the children at the hospital, kind and with far too much experience for one so young. Not to mention Daega gave off a particular air that made Iza quite sure that she could in no way be a liar and so, she wanted to help her. That and being what she was not many friends were easily made even one like this girl could be an extremely fine commodity to have.

Daega Tamya Dae listened to Izabell's 'punishment' for her and had to resist the urge to let out a relieved laugh, "yes ma'am!" she smiled and handed back the fluffy little bird that had been cuddling her most of time she was on the ground. With the earthheart leaves in her hand Daega waved to Izabell before dashing off down the street, towards the house of her employer. As she opened the door she heard the familiar voice say, "you're late"
After the long day of explaining and working, Daega was relieved to head back to Ms. Izabell Negem. The sun was setting and the houses' windows glowed, families having dinner or welcoming fathers and mothers home. Most of the venders had packed their things and gone home for the night...As she reached the far corner of the market she saw Izabell still sitting at her stall with Fluffin on her shoulder. Dae raised her hand and waved as she ran the rest of the way to the vendor. "Hello, ma'am!" She said happily, "...And fluffin" The chubby little bird had hopped from Iza's shoulder to Daega's hand. "Am I later than you thought I would be?" She asked, concerned; almost all of Izabell's goods had been sold and the girl seemed to have just been waiting for Dae to get back.

Izabell Negem Iza was counting her coins when she heard Daega approaching, she looked up a brief moment to smile and then pocketed the coins. "Perhaps you are though I would not know... Living in the desert you loose a decent perception of time and schedule." Iza smirked. "Ah, anyway we ought to get going, curry wont eat itself you know." Iza quickly packed away her remaining goods before she dusted off her robes and set off making sure the smaller girl followed. Although most people would not notice Iza was actually going at a slower pace then earlier that day, her prosthetic legs were rather sore for standing and it felt nice but a little odd to be walking again after a day of simply standing by and idling waiting for her pretty little trinkets to catch someones eye. As Iza led Daega up the road she made little conversation here and there never speaking too loud as if she feared to break the quiet of the city. Soon they had weaved there way through the streets and too there destination. Iza stood a moment, "Uh, well this is it... I should warn you my adopted mother is a doctor with far too many... Hands she can be a little enthusiastic." Iza smiled her eyebrows scrunching together in a sign of worry as she opened the door and pushed Daega in first. "Mother I'm home and I brought someo-" Before the words even left her mouth Iza was pulled into a hug by 4 sets of arms... She really had been serious when she said her mother had to many hands... Between explaining who Daega was and squirming against her adopted mother Iza was taking deep breaths. When she was finally released her mother pounced on Daega hugging the girl, shaking her hand and checking her pulse all at once while Iza checked on the curry and began dishing out plates.

Daega Tamya After she was let free of the hug Dae introduced herself. Iza's house was warm despite the time of year, it was comfy too, and the smells from the kitchen made her mouth water. Dae hung her coat from a hook on the wall and offered to help with the plates that Izabell was carrying. Soon they were all sitting around the table with bowls of curry, "So..." Dae said between bites, "What...well, what was the desert like? Did you get to meet people out there who had been to the ruins?" Dae didn't know much about the desert but she did know (from what her brother had told her before he left) that there were remains of an old city there.

Izabell Negem
Iza looked pensive as she took a bite of curry. "I have met quite a few Ruin Runners yes... And even been to a few ruins myself though only when escorted by a Ruin Runner of course..." Iza smiled. "See, ruins are quite dangerous and the people who learn to investigate them are both brave and extremely skilled but finding a ruin is just a difficult as looking through one." Iza took another bite. "Ruin Runner's rely on desert salesmen like myself for food, shelter, masks, and good trade so I meet quite a few and sometimes none at all, the desert is a strange place you see and not many people can navigate the shifting sands without getting lost. Of course if its Ruin Runner or a Vagabond then the odds change." Iza took a few more bites before she settled down long enough to make eye contact with her guest. "Might I know why your curious?"

Daega Tamya "Well," Dae started, she wasn't very accustomed to telling anyone about her past, "um...my-" she took a deep breath, "I knew someone who was-- is a ruin runner and I haven't heard from them in a bit..." She was stretching the truth, she or her sister, Taari hadn't heard from Maison (her brother) since she was ten...three years ago. "You didn't..." Her voice shook and instead of looking her friend in the eye she stared at her bowl of curry, "You didn't by chance hear of...any...anything happening, um recently, to...a...someone named Maison Tamya... A boy. About twenty...? He's-" Dae hiccuped, "he's my brother." She and Taara had waited for so long to know something, anything about their missing sibling, and now she could learn what they had missed in the years he had been gone, but Dae was scared...she didn't want to loose anyone more. Hot, salty tears slid do her face and splashed onto the table, "Do you know if he's dead?"

Izabell Negem Iza pulled a white handkerchief from her pocket and calmly wiped Daega's tears. "I have not met your brother personally... But I believe I may have heard a merchant mention his name." After insuring the girls face was try she pocketed the handkerchief and calmly looked at the girl. "Ruin runners live a hard life style but you must have faith in your brother if you want him to come back, I myself have been to few ruins and they are a tough mistress to tame but if you believe your brother can do then I'm sure he is perfectly fine... Recently more ruins have been discovered closer to Abbeyveil across the dessert if he is anywhere... Then he is probably there, the trade there is also good but the travel and negotiations can be quite tricky." Izabell smiled gently, before calmly taking another bite. She had not met Daega's brother but she wasn't lying about hearing the name and that was all she could do to reassure the girl she only hoped it would be enough.

Daega Tamya Daega nodded, an idea forming in her mind. She took a bite of her curry as she thought she plotted and planned. After the dinner she and Izabell sat at the table for a while, talking. They talked about Lullanight and the deserts and ruins. Dae mostly asked about her brother. Finally a little while before she went home Daega told Izabell what she had been deviating throughout the evening, "I think..." She started, looking Izabell strait in the eyes, "I'm going the ruins, the ones you said Maison is probably at. I'm going to try to find him" as she said this she thought of finding her brother and him hugging her and saying he'll come back with them, "And...I was wondering if you could, well, if you could be the...the person to take me, um, to the ruins." Daega's confidence wavered a bit as she watched her new friend.

Izabell Negem Iza stared at Daega long and hard after the girl admitted what her mind had become occupied with. She opened the front door slowly and ushered Daega out before gesturing to the girl to begin leading her home. Just as Iza promised she was going to walk her. As they set off down the road the Wayward Vagabond remained silent until she finally spoke. "The desert is a harsh environment and ruins are even harsher, ruin runners never stay at a ruin long so who knows if we will even catch him." Iza stopped talking a silence reigned once more until she spoke again. "But... As difficult as the task may seem I know you won't allow me to change your mind so I will agree to help you on your way BUT... We will not be leaving for awhile... I only got here today and I promised my mother some time not to mention I must check all my equipment stalk up on food make some new wares to sell... It will be at least a week or two... This should also give you time to organize things in your own life..." Iza eyed the mutant. "It is obvious you don't live an easy lifestyle so I'm sure you will need to set things up comfortably at home... When we are both ready we will depart I will show the ruins if you meet your brother... Good if not I am bringing you home the entire journey will be on foot unless we can convince a pilot of some kind to help us shorten the voyage. My terms are simple yes?"
As the duo stopped in front of Dae's house Iza stared deeply into the girls eyes. "I've only known you a day and I already feel the need to adopt you like a sister... Mainly because you seem so fragile but also so stubborn." Iza shook her head amused. "I don't have a communicator of any kind but mother has one and we can relay messages that way to ensure we both know when were both ready to go." Iza pulled a card with the number out of her long baggy right sleeve. "If I am not at the market check the hospital or home and I often go to the central square to play with the hospital children. For now I bid you adieu and I pray you get a good night sleep." Iza smiled and messed up Dae's hair playfully before turning around and going home. She had no idea what she'd just agreed to more so considering she barely knew the girl but she would give it a try and hope for the best. Iza contemplated her choice all the way home and late into the evening as she stared out her round window at the ever present steam that came from houses. When she did finally fall asleep it was deep and a little uneasy but like all decisions she'd ever made Iza would not go back on her word. All that was left to do now was wait.
